Yogesh is a University of Michigan, Ann Arbor graduate and former Merchant Navy engineering professional who has transitioned over the past decade into a full-time music composer, acclaimed lyricist, and multifaceted musician. As CEO and energy sector consultant turned creative, he has steadily built a career grounded in passion, collaboration, and craft.

Having worked with leading Bollywood musicians and legendary vocalists, Yogesh has produced two independent pop albums, numerous devotional tracks with T-Series, and additional releases under his own label, YBM SOUNDESIGN (see Annexure 1). A skilled vocalist himself, he actively mentors aspiring singers, offering voice training with the aim of helping them turn professional. His grounded approach—prioritizing “music” over “fame”—stems from early lessons at top studios like A.R. Rahman’s and guidance from revered gurus.

A prolific solo creator, Yogesh has composed over a hundred lyrical works and handles everything from concept to final masters and video production in his own studio, collaborating with top instrumentalists. He prides himself on the speed and quality of his output, rivaling mainstream composers when backed by a solid budget.

Deeply rooted in expressive and classical traditions passed down by his mother—a Kathak dancer and classical singer—Yogesh regularly collaborates with Ustads and top professionals in Delhi to produce e-concerts across genres like semi-classical, ghazals, and devotional music. His diverse influences, spanning pop-rock, jazz, ballads, and American country, give his compositions a global texture enriched by professional studio techniques.

Through YBM SOUNDESIGN, he invites singers, music companies, AV and film producers, and other stakeholders in modern Indian music to join him in expanding the independent music scene. He notes the challenges artists face today—rising production costs, minimal compensation from streaming platforms, and a lack of collaboration—and seeks to counter this by fostering professionalism, high standards, and the use of studio and generative AI tools in music education.

Independent music, he believes, is no less rich than film music—it simply requires the composer to craft their own story. His mission moving forward is to transform passionate hobbyists into refined professionals, supported by platforms like International Indian Icon (USA) and various social music groups.

Music is an Expression of Innermost Feelings, so never treat a song as just a song to sing.

Objective hereon is to create professionals out of hobby musicians and inculcate STUDIO TECHNICS, generative AI as a learning stream for all aspiring singers, of which he is a Mentor, supported by International Indian Icon (USA) and motivator for various social music groups.
